THE 11th event of the 2025 Cornish Grand Prix Race Series – the Treggy 7 – took place in Launceston on Sunday, September 7.

Treggy 7 is a seven-mile circular race starting at Launceston town square and was completed this year in torrential rain. The first mile heads down hill out of the town and onto undulating rural roads.

After leaving the village at four miles, the last three miles are mainly downhill. A fantastic finish line awaited in the grounds of Launceston Castle, with awards taking place in the town hall.

Cornwall AC’s Callum Jones emerged as a comfortable winner in the race which saw 436 finishers from both sides of the Tamar, although the wet conditions made it far from ideal conditions for the spectators and competitors.

Callum’s time of 37:25 was 49 seconds ahead of Truro Running Club’s Steve Reynolds, who was one minute and 16 seconds clear of Callum’s team-mate Nathan Goddard.

Truro Running Club’s Jo Temple was the first lady over the line in 46:07, nearly four minutes clear of Tavistock AC’s Hannah Worth (50:02). Amy Goddard (unattached) was third in 50:57.
