WERRINGTON have announced Sri Lankan batsman Thulina Dilshan will return for a fourth straight summer next year.

The Tron finished a highly-credible third in the ECB Cornwall Premier League in 2026, and the quick-scoring Dilshan has once again been entrusted with overseas duties at Ladycross.

While the season just gone might not have been quite as consistent as he would have liked, batting at number four Dilshan made a remarkable 223 in their hammering of Camborne at home, while an unbeaten century against Helston and a fine 92 against Wadebridge were other noticeable highlights.

Consistency will be key if they are to eventually challenge for the title – one which they last won in 2018 – but his brilliant fielding and useful leg-spin bowling plus his fine work with the ladies and juniors means ‘Dilly’, as he is affectionately known, fits exactly with what the club are looking for.

On his return, Dilshan said: “It’s very exciting news for me to be re-signing for the fourth time. There are no words to say how I feel about the culture and people around the club. Thanks to each and everyone who has supported me in harder times.

“Next year my personal target is to win the league or bring the Hawkey Cup back to Werrington.”

First team skipper Nick Lawson was also delighted with the news adding: “The fact that Dilly calls Werrington and Ladycross his second home goes to show how much he likes it here and how much we enjoy having him here.

“After being the top run-scorer in the league in 2025, he would admit himself that last year was slightly quieter by his standards despite his double hundred and a couple of other brilliant knocks, but if he can kick on again then hopefully it’ll help us push on towards that top three.”
