CALLINGTON Cricket Club have confirmed that former Gloucestershire skipper Chris Dent and Somerset youngster Fin Hill have both committed to the club for next season.
Dent, who scored nearly 10,000 First Class runs for the Bristol-based county, enjoyed a fine first summer for the Greens in 2026, particularly in the T20 format where hundreds against both Werrington and St Austell saw them regain the Hawkey Cup.
Hill, who has made six List A appearances for the Cidermen, played just twice for the club - which included a rapid half-century at relegated Grampound Road, before a serious hamstring injury derailed his summer and ended with Cally finishing fourth in the ECB Cornwall Premier League.
On the duo, director of cricket Joe White, said: “I’m absolutely delighted Chris and Fin are staying with us for the 2027 season. To have two players of their calibre committing to the club is massive for us and a huge statement of our ambition and another really positive step in what we’re building at the club.
“Chris already feels like part of the furniture at Callington. He’s fitted into the club incredibly well, both on and off the pitch, and the impact he’s had in such a short space of time has been fantastic. His contribution goes well beyond his performances on a Saturday. It’s his coaching and willingness to pass on his knowledge making a huge difference, particularly to our younger players. He’s a brilliant character to have around and someone who has really bought into what we’re trying to build here.
“With Fin missing almost the entire 2026 season through injury, having him back next year feels like a new signing. He’s an incredibly talented cricketer with a big future ahead of him in the pro game, and having someone of his ability at the club is a huge boost.”
