STUDENTS at Okehampton College are celebrating today having received their GCSE results.
This year’s results mark a moment of pride and joy for staff and students alike at the College, part of Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust. The whole school community are delighted to see the dedication and hard work of pupils rewarded, with many students now excitedly preparing to take the next steps in their education journey, whether at the college or elsewhere.
Students across the College academy performed well, with some of the individual standout achievements including:
- Hettie d’Apice achieved an incredible eight grade 9s in Statistics, History, Geography, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Further Maths and a grade 8 in English Literature. Hettie will be accepting a place at Exeter Maths School.
- Eleanor Foster achieved a phenomenal set of results with eight grade 9s in History, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English Literature, PE, Biology, French and a grade 8 in English language.
- Conrad Stern eceived six grade 9s in Statistics, Maths, English Literature, Physics, Further Maths, Chemistry, three grade 8s in German, Biology and English Language and a grade 7 for History. Conrad will be accepting a place at Exeter Maths School.
- Abi Smith has achieved eight grade 9s in History, Drama, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Art and Design, English Language, English Literature and a grade 8 in Maths. Very well done to you, Abi!
- Daniel Spence will be studying Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science at Exeter College after securing five grade 9s in Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and a grade 8 in Geography.
Gareth Smith, principal at Okehampton College, said: "We are all so proud of our students and what they have achieved. They are the year group who were affected by the pandemic meaning they never had a true transition to secondary school. They have worked very hard and should be thrilled with what they have achieved. I would also like to recognise the dedication and care shown by every member of staff at Okehampton College. Thank you to everyone for all their continued efforts and commitment."
