POLICE are responding to two seperate assaults reported to have happened in Launceston this afternoon (April 16).

Devon and Cornwall Police confirm they have received reports of two separate assaults in the town this afternoon.

The first took place in Prince Philip Road, and the second near to Newport Industrial Estate.

A spokesperson from the force said: “Officers, including local officers and armed response vehicles carried out area searches and have located and arrested a male suspect in relation to both incidents.”

Police say “the incident is ongoing”, with further updates to follow.
