WITH Launceston’s clash at Brixham called off due to a waterlogged pitch, the main rugby union attention in this week’s Post sports section fell on Bude, and the Seasiders responded with a fine victory over Tavistock.

Inside this week’s Post is Paul Cottle’s report from their 32-26 success, along with several photos.

Elsewhere in the rugby, there are also reports and images from Launceston Castles’ 99-7 stuffing of Saltash Seconds in Counties Cornwall Three and Launceston Ladies’ 31-5 victory at Devonport Services in Women’s NC 2 South West (West).

The football was also heavily affected by Storm Ciaran with games involving Callington Town, Camelford, Launceston and Holsworthy in SWPL Premier West all falling foul of the elements.

However Bude Town did play, and they fought back from four goals down to draw 4-4 at high-flying Wendron United.

The St Piran League programme was also affected, but there are reports from Bude Town Reserves and North Petherwin Reserves in the St Piran League Percy Stephens Cup, as well as victories in different competitions for the likes of St Dominick and St Breward.

All of Sunday’s women’s football was off, but there is a special feature on Bude Town's recent clash with Plymouth Argyle Legends at Broadclose Park.

We also check in on the latest at Bude Hockey Club as they returned to action following a week off.

There are reports from the men’s victory and the ladies’ defeat, while Launceston Ladies were unable to get started following a serious injury in a previous game.

We also hear about a square renovation at Werrington Cricket Club as we get the thoughts of groundsman Keith Moore and director of cricket Adam Hodgson, plus there’s the latest from Launceston Road Runners and a superb performance from David Starley.

As ever there’s the weekly round-ups from the Launceston and District Darts League and the North Cornwall Table Tennis League, while we also find out who were the respective winners of Bude Tennis Club’s singles competitions and South Petherwin Cricket Club's presentation evening.
