BUDE and District Pool League held their new annual Christmas Charity Singles knockout competition at the Lucky Kiss, Bude, on Sunday, December 18.

This year’s charity was ‘Friends Of Bude Sea Pool’, with the event that included Irish Killer pool competitions, raising £107.

A massive thank you was expressed by league secretary Gary Hodgson to local supermarket Morrisions who kindly donated vouchers for the event and to everyone who came along.

On the table, the winner was Andy Pollard who defeated Mike Kimpson in the final.

For his efforts, Andy won £35 of Morrisons vouchers while Mike got to take home £15.

As well as the Christmas competition both the Premier Division and Division One are in full swing.

Kilkhampton-based New Inn A look a good bet for the title having won all seven games so far, averaging over 11 points a game.

Their nearest challengers are likely to be Lucky Kiss Galacticos who are also undefeated.

The Galacticos are 22 points behind but have two games in-hand.

In the Division One MVP standings, Pollard leads the way having lost just one frame from a possible 21, while fellow New Inn A team-mate, Rob Price, also lost once from 18 frames.

Hodgson and fellow LK Galactico, Tony Holgate, are the two other players to have played at least ten frames and have a win percentage of over 80%.

In Division Two the LK Chefs are 28 points clear of second-placed New Inn Credibles and have a game in-hand.

It will take a monumental turnaround for the Chefs not to win the title.

As you might expect the Chefs players dominate the MVP rankings with Gary Wroth, James Anderson, Tim Kearse, Lenny Millard and Greg Parrish all in the top six for amount of wins.

Of the rest, Morgan Hutchinson has won 80% of his games to sit behind Millard and Wroth at the top of the averages.
