JOLLY'S Drinks Cornwall Cricket League Annual Meeting, held at Truro, saw the retirement of long serving league treasurer, John Spry.

Having originated from Bude, John enjoyed a successful playing career in Senior League cricket in the west of the county. He opened the batting for Troon in all four of their Lords National Village Cup Finals between 1972 and 1983.

He took over as treasurer of the league in 1988.

The meeting awarded him Life Membership, in recognition of his 26 years of service. A special presentation was also made by the President, Clive Rosevear.
