THIRTEEN members of Launceston Road Runners (LRR) took part in the Great West Run half marathon held in Exeter on Sunday, October 15.
The race was also part of the South West Road Running Championships, where two Launceston Road Runners were selected for the Cornwall teams.
Jeanette Johnson for the ladies, putting on a Cornwall vest for the first time since 1982, came in at one hour, 30 minutes and 37 seconds, which was the quickest in her age group.
Tim Robinson was the fastest for the men, finishing in one hour, 20 minutes and six seconds.
Of the 13 LRR--s that took part, many came home with personal bests.
The course started and finished at Exeter Arena, with the route taking runners through the city centre on closed roads and out alongside the River Exe.
The course was described as ’lumpy’ but with the city centre route, there was plenty of support all the way along.
