FOLLOWING the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II last Thursday after 70 years on the throne, this week’s Post Series is understandably dominated by the news.

Inside is a special four-page pull-out dedicated to the Queen including her visits to Launceston and Liskeard in 1956 plus memories and statements from a number of local organisations.

Also in the paper there are photographs and reaction from the various Proclamations of the new King, Charles III, including in Launceston, Camelford and Bude.

We also hear from Rev Dr Joe Lannon, Rector of Callington Cluster, who takes a look back on the Queen’s life and what his church at St Mary’s will be doing in the coming days and weeks.

The North Cornwall MP Scott Mann and Sir Geoffrey Cox, MP for Torridge and West Devon, add their heartfelt tributes too.

Away from the Queen’s death, there’s a report, results and pictures from the Bude Pirate Run on Sunday, September 11, a spectacular marrow which took first prize at the St Teath Village Show, plus plenty of community news and more.
