The North Cornwall Table Tennis League gets back underway this evening following the Christmas break (Thursday, January 2) with the first-round of the Handicap Knockout.
Five fixtures will be played to decide who joins the other eleven in the last 16.
Players are given handicaps depending on their league averages so far, with the idea being that a player in the third-tier can beat the best player in Division One by starting with a handicap start.
There are four sides from the top league in action.
Reigning Division One champions Torridge host Division Three side Bridgerule B while North Hill A, second in the top league, host Division Two outfit Bridgerule A. Meanwhile, Crackington A, sixth in Division One, host Altarnun B who are the hot favourites for the third-tier crown.
Budehaven C are bottom of the top league and host Division Two Crackington C. The other tie sees Budehaven F host North Hill C, who won Division Three last season.
There’s also a rearranged fixture in Division One as Budehaven A face Budehaven D. When the two sides met earlier in the season, the A team ran out 10-0 winners.
