TWENTY-FIVE trampolinists and their coach Anne Dodds travelled to Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton to compete in the South West Regional Schools Competition on Sunday, November 25 and came away with eight golds and six silvers.

All of the children train with their coach at Better, Launceston Leisure Centre and some of them also train with their club Zero Gravity in Saltash.

The competition is an annual national event which is open to any school-age child to compete for their school.

The children and their coach had a fantastic day and finished with a total of 14 individual qualifiers and a bronze team medal for the Launceston College Novice Girls team. The next round is the Zonal Round which is being held in Eastleigh, Hampshire on Saturday, January 19.

This will see the children competing against other qualifiers from the South, South East and London regions. To qualify into this round, the trampolinists had to compete two routines and achieve a top three placing.

Club coach, Anne Dodds, said: “The qualifiers all have a lot of training to do over the Christmas period in preparation for a much tougher round in Hampshire.
