FORMER Launceston man Bernie Verrills has completed the 2013 Trans Andes Challenge, a six day mountain bike enduro, in January in aid of Help for Heroes.
The South American held race started on January 21 and ended on January 26 in Patagonia, near Chile.
Bernie self funded himself to compete in the event, but is registered with Help for Heroes to raise sponsorship on the charity's behalf, with his aim being to top £1,000.
London based Bernie flew the flag for Cornwall in South America. His mum still lives in Canworthy Water, whilst he was a student at Launceston College and represented the town's rugby side at colt level.
