Camelford 1

Millbrook 2

DESPITE missing a number of key players once more, the Camels couldn’t get the points their efforts deserved.

Millbrook led 2-0 at the break thanks to brilliant long-range shots from Dan Chapman and Jake Foster and looked destined to leave Trefrew Park with three points.

However the Camels rallied themselves and applied almost constant pressure for the next 45 minutes but could only manage a response from Andy Boxall’s free-kick.

Further chances were created but ultimately missed as the Camels’ difficult run continues.

Camelford are on the road this Saturday when they head to Ivybridge Town in the second-round of the Walter C Parson Funeral Directors League Cup.

Helston Athletic 0

Callington Town 0

A BORE draw at Kellaway Park, but a great result for Callington, who picked up their sixth point from 12 games.

The wind played a big part in a dull first 60 minutes although visiting goalkeeper Sam Borthwick and Jamie Rowlands both made crucial interventions to keep the score level.

Borthwick continued to play well in the second-half, making a string of fine saves to preserve their point.

Callington were back in action on Tuesday night when they entertained Bodmin Town. They’re next in action on Tuesday night when leaders Plymouth Argyle make the short trip over the Tamar.

Division One (West)

Mousehole 7

Bude Town 1

SIX games, zero points for Bude although they won’t have to play against such attacking prowess too often.

The West Cornwall club had forwards Gerens James and Frenchman Steven Ziboth in blistering form — both scored hat-tricks while former Norwich City and Rangers youngster Adel Gafaiti added the seventh.

Bude were in the game at just 2-1 down at half-time thanks to Yassem Cooke’s calmly taken finish after he rounded the goalkeeper, but their season really needs to get started this weekend when they welcome fourth-bottom Plymouth Marjon to Broadclose Park (3pm).

Plymstock United 1

Holsworthy 4

HOLSWORTHY made it a perfect seven days for the first team with a convincing 4-1 victory at mid-table Plymstock United.

Their previous two outings at home had seen the Magpies beat Brixham 3-2 in the Carl Throgmorton Devon Premier Cup and Dobwalls 3-0 in the league on Tuesday nigh.

However they warmed up for this weekend’s rematch with Brixham in the Walter C Parson Funeral Directors League Cup by winning convinvingly away from home.

Liam Dart’s side scored through Tom Robinson, Dom Abbott, Joe Barker and Harry Stevens while Lee Gardiner and Carlo Chandler were both in top form at the other end of the field.
