SOUTH WEST PENINISULA LEAGUE PREMIER WEST (SATURDAY)

Camelford 2 Falmouth Town Reserves 5

CAMELFORD failed to build on their midweek victory at Sticker as a rampant Falmouth Town Reserves ran out 5-2 winners at Trefrew Park.

The Camels were once again without the likes of Andy Boxall, while Shae Cardiff was absent following his winner four days earlier.

Falmouth arrived having enjoyed a superb start since promotion, and they started the game positively.

However, Camelford then came into the game and scored with their first attack on five minutes. Good work from Cam Bidgood saw him get half a yard and put in a terrific cross for opposite winger Joseph Parr to finish well at the back post.

Falmouth soon levelled as a long ball wasn’t dealt with and a shot from distance from Kane Thomas found the corner.

The visitors then took the lead when a cross from the right was flicked into the far corner by Sam Buckley.

Falmouth scored their third 20 minutes in with a fine free-kick from skipper Reece Carroll.

Despite being second best, Camelford cut the deficit when a great move was finished by Ryan Downing shortly after.

Falmouth extended their lead just before half-time when Thomas’ shot from outside the area found the far corner.

The Thomas show was complete midway through the second half when he broke through three tackles and calmly chipped the onrushing Ryelee Deignan.

Camelford kept pushing to get back into the game and saw close range efforts by Tom Crowe and Jacob Ham well saved by Ethan Fearn, but it wasn’t their day against a decent Falmouth side.
