North Devon Football League round-up

SHEBBEAR United earned the local bragging rights in the Senior Division after beating Bridgerule 3-0 at South Close.

The visitors started the brighter but fell behind as a low cross was tapped in by Jack Hill.

Both sides attacked as much as possible, but a goalmouth scramble in the Bridgerule box was as close it got before the break.

Shebbear were playing against the wind in the second-half but doubled their lead when the influential Ryan Down smashed in a volley.

A third was added when the prolific Gregory Mitchell sent visiting keeper George Tozer the wrong way from the spot.

Leaders Holsworthy saw their clash at Landkey Town postponed while Kilkhampton were in Bond Timber Cornwall Junior Cup action.

In the Premier, Bradworthy fell to a second defeat of 2020 as they lost 2-0 at home to mid-table Hartland Clovelly.

The bottom two in Intermediate Two battled it out at the Morwenstow Playing Fields but it was Bridgerule Reserves who ran out comfortable winners by six goals to one at their Morwenstow counterparts. Substitute Ben Trenaman was the home scorer with Liam Anderson (3), Daniel Tape, Matthew Pepperell and Steven Westlake on target for the visitors.

In the basement division, Ashwater put in a much-improved performance before falling to a 1-0 defeat at home to Sandymere Blues.
