NANPEAN Rovers kept the pressure up on leaders Newquay Reserves as both sides secured emphatic victories.
While Newquay were cruising past their Dobwalls counterparts 4-0 thanks to goals from Cameron Law, Freddie Collins, Caleb Eguaoje and sub Jamie Dixon, Nanpean put bottom side St Dominick to the sword.
The Clay Country outfit led 2-0 at half-time at Lovells Park before upping the ante after the restart.
Ryan Best (19) and Scot Brown (38) set the platform, allowing Brown (46 and 72) who went on to notch a hat-trick, Jacob Rowe (59 and 81), Callum Oldham (63 and 88), Luke Truscott (68), Harry Wilshaw (77) and Zachary Best (84) to bolster the goal difference in a 11-0 success.
While St Dominick sit last on one point, both Launceston Reserves and St Breward missed the chance to climb away from trouble.
Second from last Launceston were beaten 3-1 by their visiting Wadebridge Town counterparts who saw Tom McLachlan and Daniel O’Hara (2) on target, while St Breward conceded their trip to Torpoint Athletic Thirds.
St Teath found their shooting boots at home to Liskeard Athletic Reserves as they ran out 7-1 winners.
Adam Sleep was the star of the show with four while Danny Sprake (2) and Freddie Foster also netted. Harvey Pedrick got one back for the Blues.
Pensilva bounced back from their first defeat of the season at Newquay by earning a 2-1 success at St Stephen.
Jay Fisher’s 26th minute opener put the Pens ahead before he doubled the advantage with 16 minutes remaining.
Aaron Cloke (80) pulled one back shortly after to set up a grandstand finish, however the three points headed back to East Cornwall.
That result meant they moved up to fourth and within six points of third-placed Saltash United Thirds who were held to a 2-2 draw at mid-table Lifton.
Pensilva have six wins from seven and also have a massive five games in-hand on Saltash and two on Nanpean, the latter who are also on 24 alongside the Ashes who scored via Joshua Griffiths and James Desforges.
Lifton, who are ninth with 14 points from seven outings, netted through the in-form Liam Rich and Sean Tucker.
Boscastle beat league rivals St Newlyn East 3-0 in the second round of the George Evely Cup thanks to Sam Haddy’s early brace and a late Matt Pethick goal.
