CORNWALL County Football Association (CCFA) has been working tirelessly over the past few months in finding ways of increasing the number of referees involved in the game.
There is a shortage as many people within the football community are aware and it is not looking like improving anytime soon.
West Cornwall tried addressing the issue by running a referees course to try and boost numbers, even if some of them would only be available when their own team hasn’t got a match, and it proved quite successful — so with that in mind, the CCFA are offering potential referees the chance to go along to a course at a reduced cost which would be refundable once volunteers have met the 10 game criteria by May 31, 2017.
The latest course starts on Friday in partnership with the J J Jones Duchy League, and runs through until Sunday.
The course will run at the CCFA offices in Bodmin starting at 6.30pm tomorrow and 9am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
If it is too short notice to get on board with this course now but are interested in becoming a referee, either on a full time or part time basis, there is another course scheduled for the weekend starting Friday, April 15.
