THREE of the Post area South West Peninsula League Premier West clubs get their pre-season preparations started this afternoon.
The pick of those is at Trefrew Park as Camelford welcome St Blazey (3pm).
Blazey eased to the Premier West crown last term and are preparing for a voyage into Western League football, while the Camels were mid-table under long-serving boss Reg Hambly.
Launceston took on Blazey’s Western League Premier Division rivals Torpoint Athletic last Wednesday in a friendly which was held over three 30-minute sections, and their second outing sees them welcome SWPL Premier East outfit Bovey Tracey to Pennygillam (3pm).
Bovey finished seventh last term and hope to improve once more this year, so will provide a perfect test for Neil Price’s side who could give a second debut to former Truro City and Bath City striker Andy Watkins.
Bude finished fifth last term and also have aspirations of being in title picture come next April.
They head up to North Molton from the Devon League North/East Division for their first outing.
The Seasiders recently signed Mitch McCann from Frome Town to replace the recently departed Scott Piper, although the majority of last year’s squad are staying.
