BUDE Town made it back-to-back victories as they earned a comfortable home success over winless Dobwalls at Lantoom Park on Tuesday night.

The Seasiders headed to East Cornwall looking to build on their impressive 3-0 win over Camelford three days earlier, but it was the Dingos’ youngsters that swarmed out of the blocks. Inside a minute, the home striker was sent through, only for summer signing Leam Powell to make a fine stop.

Bude gradually got into their groove, dominating possession and chances whilst playing some fluid football. However, home keeper Liam Bray made three fantastic saves to deny Billy Hopcroft, Ray Spear and man-of-the-match Harrison Swatton as the visitors were left cursing their luck in front of goal.

But just as it looked like the hosts would get through to half-time unscathed, Town got their noses in front on 40 minutes. Smart work from Swatton on the left saw his cross met by Rio Anderson at the back post who made no mistake with his header.

Bude remained comfortable in the second half and limited Dobwalls to few chances and doubled their lead through an excellent Harry Hopcroft free-kick in the 70th minute. For the second game in a row brother Billy was fouled to enable captain Harry the opportunity to despatch a set-piece from just outside of the box.

Reflecting on the victory, joint boss Tornado Bello, said: “As pleasing as the goals were, it was also great to get another clean sheet.”
