ALTARNUN Football Club are gearing up to celebrate their milestone season by inviting anyone that’s ever been involved with the club to come along to a special dinner and awards night in June.

The club was formed in 1946, and in their first year they won the Launceston and District League trophy — an auspicious achievement — and since then the club teams have gone on to win many trophies in many different competitions.

2016 sees the club celebrate 70 years of football, and to mark this important milestone in its history, a special evening event has been planned.

The event will be held at Trethorne on Saturday, June 11 at 7.30pm, and will start with an evening meal at a cost of £15 per person.

The evening will be combined with the annual awards presentation for the 2015/16 season.

Anyone with past or current connections with the club, is especially invited; but the club has said that the invitation is open and extended to everyone who would like to attend and help the club celebrate its achievements.

If you wish to attend, the club requests you contact the manager Richard Williams by telephone on either 01566 86517 or 07799555852, or by email using [email protected]

The current Altarnun side have just three games remaining this season, two against the Duchy Division One league leaders Callington and the other away to AFC Bodmin.

The red and blacks will be doing their utmost to accrue some points from the games in the hope of avoiding relegation in what has been a challenging league campaign.
