THE LWC Drinks Cornwall Cricket League draft divisions for 2019 have been published.
There are no unexpected surprises with all the Premier and County Division One clubs having achieved ECB Clubmark by the October 31 deadline and fielding sufficient youth teams in 2018.
The Premier League has been reduced from 11 to ten teams, meaning Camborne were relegated with no-one promoted.
A new T20 tournament has been scheduled for the first four match days of the season for Premier League clubs, which include defending champions Werrington and Callington.
A third team had to be relegated from County Division One with Newquay joining Roche and St Erme in Division Two East. They are replaced by Ludgvan and St Austell seconds in what looks a significantly stronger league, which should test Launceston and Werrington seconds to the maximum.
With three teams coming down to Division Two East and none into Division Two West, the divisions have been balanced as required as per league rules.
Further down the divisions restructuring has taken place as Divisions Four and Five have been reduced from 12 to ten teams.
Plenty of other Post area clubs have been affected with Callington seconds being one of four teams relegated from Division Two East. They will face Launceston seconds and Bude seconds in Division Three East after both sides were promoted last term. Other Post area clubs in the fourth-tier include Holsworthy, South Petherwin and Tintagel.
Luckett, Bude and St Minver will all compete in Division Two East.
Werrington thirds will be confident of a title push in Division Four after finishing third bottom in Division Three. They’ll be joined by Delabole and Luckett seconds in that division.
South Petherwin seconds will take on relegated Milton Abbot in Division Five East after their play-off victory over Werrington fourths.
The 34 teams in divisions six and seven have been restructured on a geographical basis into Division Six East, Central and West.
As it stands two of these divisions will have 12 instead of ten teams but the plan is still to fixture an 18-game season with four opponents played only once in a random draw.
St Minver seconds are among three teams to have been readmitted to the league while Liskeard will also be re-admitted subject to approval.
There are five Post area teams in Division Six East with Werrington fourths, Launceston thirds, Gunnislake and Tintagel seconds joining St Minver seconds.
The season starts on Saturday, April 20 for the Premier and Tiers 1 and 2. Tier 3 (Divisions Four, Five and Six) will start on Saturday, May 4.
