CALLINGTON Cricket Club have appointed Andrew Jones as their senior head coach.
Former Callington player Jones is an ECB Level Three coach with a decade of coaching at county level and he is a very familiar face to people at the club.
He has worked on the Emerging Players Programme (EPP) – a high performance development programme designed to be a stepping stone between county age group teams – and with county players on a one-to-one basis.
Callington have also made a third new signing of the winter, following hard on the heels of the arrival of top order batsman Richard Brown and left-arm quick bowler and all-rounder Sam Pengelly.
They have brought in all-rounder Dan Davis, who played for Callington between 2008 and 2012.
During that spell he hit 3,560 runs at an average of 44.50, amassing five hundreds and 24 half centuries, with a highest Premier League score of 162 not out against St Austell.
He also impressed with the ball, taking 79 wickets at an average of 22.15.
