THE?recently-formed Bude Croquet Club travelled to St Agnes recently for their first ever fixture.

The more experienced St?Agnes team ran out comfortable winners, however there were fine performances from the Bude team which augurs well for the future.

Bude chairman, Brian Donahue, noted that the game gave invaluable experience to the Bude players.

The St Agnes club were most hospitable, providing not only teas, coffee, soft drinks, biscuits, cakes and organising a pasty lunch but also a most appreciated glass of Pimms.

The club are in the process of trying to organise additional fixtures against Exeter and Barnstaple in the not too distant future.
