The Northern Area Pairs winners were H Teague and G Risdon

The indoor season has now been concluded and members are to enjoy the outdoor season, with the green looking in an exceptional condition, after much hard work by those few members who put in a lot of work maintaining it.

On Saturday, April 13, regailed in the usual white attire, members partook in the Opening Day. It was a nice dry day and again those attending brought food which was enjoyed in the afternoon. In the absence of president and captain Colin Parsons, whose mother had passed away the previous day, member Bob Coleshill welcomed those attending, numbered in the late twenties, and wished them an enjoyable afternoon and more so a successful and productive season. The thoughts of all the members are with Colin at this sad time.

After playing nine ends, the refreshments were enjoyed and afterwards three or four more ends concluded the afternoon, especially as the weather, although dry, included a very keen easterly cold wind.

The club is always keen to recruit new members so if you are interested, contact secretary Neill Wright on 01840 213801.
