A RATHER different looking and very uniform type of fleet started the AM frostbite four race on Sunday.
There were five Toppers (all having a double reef to keep the fleet the same), and two Bosuns. The seven helms and two crew were all brave enough to face the biting north westerly winds, and it was a tight start.
The Bosuns of Simon Veal, with crew Rachel Pomeroy, and Adam Hilton, with John Dabs for extra weight, soon forged in to a lead. Considering that all the Toppers were reefed they were very close behind the Bosuns, with Jane Anderson leading the fleet and James Pollard showing a clean pair of heels to the others.
