BUDE Pilot Gig Club juniors were on a winning streak recently.
They came first place in their first U16 race at the Barnstaple regatta, with Bude juniors quickly taking the lead and dominating the race. Six happy, tired rowers and a beaming cox, Donna Griffiths, ended the race along the quayside to the shouts of club mates and parents.
They then watched and cheered for four other team mates who had jumped in to help other crews — one of whom, Lydia Girdler, stroked the winning U14 boat.
If your child is interested in gig rowing, the Bude club is a friendly, welcoming group who train on Saturday mornings. For more information, do get in touch.
