A 15-YEAR-OLD student in Bude is preparing for the second round of a national competition.

Jim Keir successfully passed the first round of BBC Radio 1's Live and Unsigned last year, impressing the judges with his rendition of Clouds, by Newton Faulkner. The second round takes place on Sunday, March 24.

Jim was in a group of four performing in front of a panel of judges. He said there was added pressure as everyone was being "directly compared to each other".

"Clouds looks more impressive than it actually is because of the guitar. I was really worried when I was doing the song as the judges were talking and writing things down, where as they hadn't for other people".
