EVER won the lottery? One Bude man did but he binned the ticket that would have made a big difference to his life because of a misunderstanding.

To the lottery promoter's promise 'It could be you' he could answer 'It was!'

Unfortunately, he doesn't have the Euro Lottery ticket or the counterfoil to prove it but is 99.9 per cent certain it was him!

The 75-year-old man, who has asked us not to name him because of possible embarrassment, bought his ticket at Morrison's Store in Bude.

He told the 'Post': "I checked Sky TV but the numbers didn't match, so I binned the ticket.

"Three weeks later, I saw the numbers and realised they were pretty similar to mine.

"What happened originally was that the numbers had not been updated on Sky and if I had waited 24 hours, they would have come up!"
