SUMMERLEAZE Beach in Bude has failed its annual bathing water quality test, as carried out by the Marine Conservation Society recently for its Good Beach Guide.
One of the UK's wettest summers on record has led to a worrying drop in the number of beaches around the country being recommended in the report, which has been made available online.
Sandymouth Beach, Crooklets Beach and Trebarwith Strand were all categorised as fulfilling the criteria to a mandatory standard, whilst Crackington Haven was deemed guideline, and Widemouth Bay and Hartland Quay are classed as recommended. All of the above beaches were recommended in 2012's report.
