THERE is chance for good food and a natter at the new Community Café launched by Gateway 2 New Life on November 23.

The Community Café in the Gateway Centre, Launceston, will be run by the church and will be open Monday to Saturdays between 9am and 2.30pm.

The Gateway Community Café manager Shirley Worden said: “The cafe has been set-up to provide a tasty and affordable breakfast or lunch within Launceston. Our heart is to benefit the local community and offer low cost meals and refreshments in a sociable setting. We will be manned by volunteers and provide a welcoming, bright and airy cafe serving high quality, value food every day.”

Within the café there will be various community events to help meet the unmet social needs in the community, such as a knit and natter club, befriending club and a pool club.

The café can be found on the ground floor of the Gateway Centre on Madford Lane and provides wheelchair and pushchair access via the ramp that goes past the town band building.
