THE trustees of Launceston’s Coronation Park have recently had a new item of play equipment installed there, following the old timber unit failing to come up to safety standards.
The trustees made a Big Lottery Fund application earlier this year and were successful in receiving a £10,000 grant towards the new item. A Big Lottery-Funded plaque will be installed on site soon, as well as on the new equipment.
Trust chairman David Gordon said: “This funding has enabled the trustees to replace the item of play much quicker than would normally be expected.
“The trustees are very pro-active in investing in the park, which is normally funded by any profits we make with our annual firework display every November.
“We naturally hope that this new play unit will be enjoyed by children of various ages for many years to come”.
