LAUNCESTON’S Rotary Community Shop was asked by the mayor, Cllr Brian Hogan, together with the mayoress, Anita White, to support his current mayoral charity — Launceston Town Band.

The Rotary Club was very happy to approve an amount of £300.

A Rotary spokesman said the town band has always been a good friend to the club and the band has been ready to play for the club and the town of Launceston whenever it has been requested to do so.

The mayor and mayoress are putting on a concert in the Town Hall on Friday, March 24.

In the words of Cllr Hogan: “We hope this will assist the band to raise the funds they need to continue being so successful, including payment for banners, posters, advertising and ticket production.”
