A SERIES of beach cleans took place in the Bude area recently, as part of the Surfers Against Sewage autumn beach clean series.

The series saw more than 120 beach cleans, arranged by volunteers all around the UK.

In Bude, cleans were organised at Widemouth, Summerleaze and Crooklets beaches.

Widemouth Bay had strong support from the group, Widemouth Task Force, with 31 volunteers plus two babies and many dogs, who collected 22 sacks of rubbish.

At Crooklets, 13 volunteers collected eleven bags of rubbish, plus scrap metal, plastic and an old fridge.

The Summerleaze clean was organised by Bude Gig Club, with 18 junior members and seven adults attending.
