ONE of the organisers of Yeolmbridge's world war one commemoration events, which took place over the weekend, said everything was 'perfect'. Mavis Gribble said a good number turned out on the Saturday to the village hall, which was decorated inside and out with flags and bunting and was full of memorabilia from Launceston families that had lost people in the war. On the Sunday, there was a remembrance service led by the Rev Malcolm Jones and the Rev Ken Wakefield. The lesson was read by Les Baker from his uncle's bible. Mr Baker's uncle was killed in the war. Twelve members of the parish were killed in the war and 12 people read about the history of each person. Children aged under 11 then placed a wooden cross and a lit candle by the printed sheets of information. Mrs Gribble said: "The remembering of the 12 fallen was lovely to hear and it is nice to think we remembered them."
