BUDE man Trev Plant has braved the shave to fundraise for a festive local cause.
Trev, a local taxi driver who also runs the Big Up Bude online page, wanted to fundraise for local Christmas lights project ‘LightUpBude’ in a daring way this time round — and what better way than to shave all your hair and beard off?
LightUpBude is a community project consisting of people who are passionate about providing Bude with Christmas lights during the festive season.
They rely on donations and their own fundraising events to raise money to provide sparkling, colourful and beautiful Christmas lights.
Having been on the LightUpBude team for two years, he told the Post: “Bude is very special to me and if I can help in any way, I will. The Christmas lights have been a pleasure to do for the last two years and this being the last year I’m involved, I thought ‘make it a good one’!”
Trev’s headshave, which took place after Bude Carnival at the Crooklets Inn on Saturday, August 18, has raised over £2,000, which he says has been ‘well worth it’.
“A big thanks to the Clip Joint Barber Shop Bude and Colin Danks for doing the honours. Money is still coming in now after the event.”
For anyone who would still like to donate to Trev’s fundraiser, the LightUpBude charity account number is 77-09-19, 39017660.
