Local sporting champion, Tom Daley, visited the Bude-based company Bott on Wednesday, August 26 to show off his gold medal, thanking staff for their sponsorship support and celebrating his achievement at The World Championships.
Tom (15), from Plymouth, shot to fame during the 2008 Olympic Games when he became the youngest GB team representative. He reached the final of the men's diving and hasn't failed to disappoint his fans since.
Most recently he took the gold medal in the men's 10 metre diving at the World Championships in Rome and was keen to bring it back to Cornwall to show his fans and sponsors.
Bott, the leading manufacturer of storage solutions, has secured a five-year sponsorship deal with Tom, which supports him in the lead up to and during the 2012 London Olympic Games. During his visit to Bott he thanked the company for the financial support that has helped him become a world champion.
Clive Woodward, managing director at Bott commented: "Tom's world-wide achievements make the people of Cornwall very proud and as a local employer we wanted to show our support for him. At Bott we believe in being top of our game, something that we know Tom strives for too, and we will continue to follow his career with great excitement."
