ALTHOUGH the rain tried to drown the carnival in the field, the skies cleared in time for the procession at Tintagel Carnival on Saturday.

With the weather worse than last year as the carnival prepared for the main event, they were lucky for the sun to push through the clouds when it all began.

There was apprehensive feelings when some of the floats couldn't get out of the field, but thanks to the heroic efforts of Mr Edward Headon of Travalga, and his tractor, the show went on as planned.

With more floats than has ever been seen at Tintagel Carnival, though quite a few less walkers, it was described as fantastic by all.
