THE NEW Team Rector for the parish of Launceston, including Tregadillett, will be licensed at a service at St Mary Magdalene Church, Launceston, on Friday, March 14 by the Rt Rev Tim Thornton, Bishop of Truro.
The Rev Jane Everitt moved to Launceston from Poulton-Le Fylde, in the Diocese of Blackburn, Lancashire. She will begin presiding at services in Launceston from Sunday, March 16.
Mrs Everitt will work with the Rev Mary Williamson and lead services at the Anglican churches of St Stephen's, St Thomas and St Mary Magdalene, in Launceston, and continue the Ecumencial Partnership with the Methodist Church at Christ the Cornerstone Church, at Tregadillett.
Poulton-Le Fylde is similar to Launceston, with market towns and many residents commuting to work further away. It is a tourist area, and subject to windy and wet weather, so Mrs Everitt feels she is prepared for the elements of North Cornwall.
