SUNSHINE greeted the crowds at a fundraising event in aid of the Holsworthy mayor’s charities .

The grounds of Stanhope Park were transformed into an inflatable theme park wonderland over the weekend of April 25 and 26, with some of the proceeds going towards the two local groups chosen by the town’s mayor – Holsworthy AFC and Holsworthy Museum.

Alongside the vast array of things to keep all in the family amused were some character appearances from programmes beloved by the present generation of youngsters in the form of Skye and Chase from ‘Paw Patrol’ in addition to Bluey and Bingo from the Australian children’s animation series ‘Bluey’.

There was also a raffle run by Holsworthy AFC with all of the proceeds going towards the two mayor’s charities.

Cllr Jon Hutchings, the mayor of Holsworthy said after the event: “We have had some very positive feedback. It was great to see so many happy smiling young faces in the park over the last couple of days.

“A big thank you to the volunteers who manned the draw for my mayor’s charities. We have some great pictures and drone footage courtesy of Aaron Cann and the Bouncy Castle Kingdom.

“We’d like you to know if you would like to see them again later in the year and I will see what we can do. Overall, it was a fabulous weekend in the park helping to raise money for some local charities.”

A spokesperson for Holsworthy Museum, whose volunteers also played a part at the event, added: “Thank you everyone that supported the raffle at the park this weekend.

“Thank you for the mayor, the town council, our helpers from Holsworthy Museum and Holsworthy AFC who ran the raffle as part of Holsworthy Town Council’s mayors charity. It was an amazing and we enjoyed every moment.”
