JOIN Launceston Choral Society for its 'Summer Serenade' at 7.30pm on Saturday, June 20 at Launceston Central Methodist Church for an evening of music suitable for the season and weather.
The choir will be
performing popular favourites, some old, some new, including 'I got Rhythm' by George Gershwin and 'I do like to be beside the Seaside.'
Musical Director, Jonathan Mann and guest organist, David Crocker, will also be playing some solo organ classics.
A spokesman said: "All of the society's concerts raise money for charity by means of a retiring collection and, as a result of a recent dash by one of our members with her six-month-old daughter to North Devon Hospital's Baby Unit in a Launceston Ambulance when she was given a Launceston Lions Ambulance Teddy Bear, we shall be collecting for the Launceston Lions Ambulance Teddy Fund and for North Devon Hospital Baby Unit. We are pleased to report that baby and teddy are doing just fine."
Tickets for this concert are available on the door, from the offices of Peters Langsford Davies or by
telephone on 01566 772701. Tickets cost £5. There are no concessions but school age children and teddy bears are free. The society looks forward to seeing everyone there.
