THE commissioning service of eleven street pastors and four prayer pastors took place at Launceston Central Methodist Church on Saturday night (July 27).

After months of planning, training and preparation the Street Pastors Initiative will be active on the streets of Launceston from Saturday night (August 3) and will patrol the majority of Saturday nights throughout the year in groups of three caring, listening and helping from 10pm to 1am.

The street pastors will wear the distinctive blue coats and caps with street pastors clearly on their uniforms and will carry equipment suitable for their role and the situations they may come across and all have taken part in training by professionals in their field of experience.
