A SELECTION of poppies, knitted by staff and their families, were put on sale at the Launceston branch of Tesco last Thursday, with proceeds going towards the Royal British Legion's (RBL) Remembrance Day fundraising efforts.
Launceston RBL Poppy Appeal organiser Ann Gynn was contacted by Launceston Tesco Community Champion Shelley Vanstone some months ago to discuss ideas behind this year's collection.
Thanks to a suggestion from a colleague in another branch, Shelley decided to ask staff at the Launceston store to create knitted poppies, and was delighted with the response.
