SOUTHGATE Colts recently held their end of season presentation evening at the White Hart Hotel in Launceston.

In a well organised evening, chairman Richard Williams opened the evening by introducing Alan Stokes – a local referee and former club stalwart who helped run the Southgate United sides a few years ago. He was honoured to present the trophies to the deserved winners.

• The winners in the U10s category were: 'Manager's Player', Lewis Halliday; 'Most Improved', Josh Mayne and 'Player's Player', Simon Reardon.

The memorial trophy for Justin Chettle was presented to U16s player Ryan Crabb by Justin's dad, Ashley Chettle. The trophy was first presented by the club in 2005 to remember Justin – a former Southgate player – and is awarded to a player in the U16 side, acknowledged for their dedication and loyalty.

The Linda Cox Trophy is awarded to the clubman of the year, and on the evening was presented to Edward Horn by one of Linda's son's Nathan Cox.

Linda was a long time supporter of the club, who watched her three sons play football and husband Roger manage a team for many seasons.

The award went to Edward for his setting up and running of the mini soccer development centre, his work within the men's team and his dedication to the club on many other fronts.

The Southgate Seniors F.C presentation evening also held at The White Hart saw Liam Hancock pick up the 'Manager's Player of the Year', Leon Fowler the 'Player's Player' of the Year' and Eliot Astles collect the 'Young Player of the Year'.
