A ROTARY Club member from Launceston was awarded the Rotary 'Service Above Self' Award at the District Conference on Saturday — there are only 150 such awards presented worldwide each year and with more than 1.2-million Rotarians worldwide, it is a great honour.
The award was presented to Barry Kressinger by Frank Devlyn, a former President of Rotary International. He now travels from his home in Mexico to represent the current President in making these awards.
Also at the Conference in Falmouth was Nan McCreadie, National President of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland and the first woman to hold the office.
