VISITORS and locals to Bude Sea Pool are being advised to stay away from an area of a cliff after a rock fall.

On May 28, a rock fall occurred over an area known as ‘pebble beach’ at Bude Sea Pool, Summerleaze. This area is always cordoned off with ropes, buoys and signage.

A spokesperson from Bude Sea Pool said: “This is an unusual occurrence, and is the reason why we have the area cordoned off to keep people away from the cliff. During the season, pool staff are on hand to ensure anyone trying to access that area are discouraged and the reasons why.

“The Friends of Bude Sea Pool contacted Cornwall Council on Monday and have already had an expert visit Bude Sea Pool to view the fall. We are awaiting his report, which is being sent to Cornwall Council. Friends of Bude Sea Pool have been reassured that there are no immediate concerns.”
