THE U3A Cycle Club took part in a 50 mile bike ride in aid of the Royal British Legion on June 11 as part of the RBL's 90th anniversary celebrations. They arrived in Launceston Square at 3.30pm, where they were met by the town's Deputy Mayor Cllr Dave Gordon, the chairman of the town's RBL, members of the RBL and friends and families of the riders. The ride was most successful and the organiser, Terry Smale estimated that in excess of £900 had been raised for the Cornwall County Welfare fund.
