The Post attended the first meeting of Launceston’s new town council this evening, in which a new mayor was elected.
Councillor Leighton Penhale was elected as the new mayor of Launceston at tonight’s full town council meeting (May 17).
Cllr Penhale, who was deputy mayor in the last two years, succeeds Cllr Dave Gordon after being unanimously approved by the council.
His successor as deputy mayor is Cllr Helen Bailey who was also unanimously voted in by the council.
