PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.
Cornwall Council have confirmed that several roads in North Cornwall are set to be closed in the coming weeks.
These road closures are due to a number of reasons and as part of the authorisation process they are required to advertise the proposed closures in local news titles in order to make the public aware.
The latest public notices indicate potential road closures in Tresmeer, Bude and Launceston.
TRESMEER: The road from Tor Wood to the junction to the South East of Tregena, Tresmeer in Launceston is set to be closed to through traffic between September 14 and September 16.
The closure has been authorised by Cornwall Council to enable Cormac Solutions Ltd to undertake repair works to defective gullies in the area.
It will be in place 24 hours a day, weekdays only.
The road affected is the portion from Tor Wood to the junction to the South East of Tregena, Tresmeer, Launceston between properties known as Churchtown Farm and the junction providing access to Lanzion.
An alternative route will be signed on site and pedestrian access to properties will be maintained.
LAUNCESTON: There will be a road closure on Dutson Road and the A388 between the county boundary and Dutson Road in Launceston between September 28 and October 2.
The closure will be in place overnight, with it being in force between 7pm and 6am.
Cornwall Council says that the closure is necessary to enable Cormac undertake road maintenance and gully emptying works.
The road affected is the portion between the junctions with Roydon Road and the A388, and the A388 between County boundary, where the road crosses into Devon and Dutson Road, Launceston.
An alternative route will be signposted on site and there will be a maintained access to properties in the area for both vehicles and pedestrians.
BUDE: The road from County Road to Marine Drive in Upton, Bude is set to be closed between September 14 and September 16 between the hours of 8am and 6pm for ducting works.
