PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.

Hotel seeks varied licence

A HOTEL in Rock has applied to Cornwall Council seeking a variation of its premises licence.

St Enodoc Hotel Limited is seeking permission to amend its existing premises licence which allows it to sell alcohol and provide certain types of entertainment.

It is seeking to amend the layout plan annexed to the licence to include the external gardens and terraces within the licenced area.

St Enodoc Hotel Limited is also seeking to remove the ‘outdated’ Christmas Day and Good Friday non-standard hours form the licence and to add some new additional conditions to the premises licence.

This is namely to allow regulated entertainment in the form of recorded and live music or anything similar to the licensable activities.

Representations must be made to Cornwall Council in respect of the application by June 4.

Water abstraction application

An application has been submitted to the Environment Agency for the granting of a licence to abstract water for the use of bottling and general agricultural purposes, excluding spray irrigation.

Martyn Ham has submitted the application to abstract water from an underground strata comprising of slate at Treboy Farm in St Clether.

If approved, it will allow him to abstract 36 cubic metres of water a day and up to 11,140 cubic metres a year.
